OF ETHICS
As a member of OGWA, I undertake:
1.
To show my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by the
industrious application of the best principles of the ground water industry to
the end that I may merit a reputation for quality of service.
2.
To strive for close cooperation with all members of this
association.
3.
To perform faithfully all duties required of me by law or
business ethics.
4.
To be alert to learn new methods, to apply them, and acquaint
my fellow members of them in the interests of improving the industry.
5.
To advance and protect the business interests of the industry
and its members through OGWA and its collective voice.
6.
To work for and maintain a high standard in the construction
and maintenance of ground water projects to the end that safety and good
performance is assured the owner and the general public.
7.
To foster sound merchandising and fair trade practices with
proper regard for the laws and rules governing fair competition.
8.
To cooperate with other ground water professionals and trade
associations, civic organizations and business groups for mutual benefit.
9.
To encourage and foster harmonious relations among employees
and employers in our industry.
10.
To realize that I am responsible for the life and health of
my customers in regard to safe water supply.
OBJECTIVES
OF OGWA
In the state of Oregon, the
Oregon Ground Water Association is the trade association for the ground water
industry.
The objectives of the association
shall be:
1. Within the state
of Oregon to assist, promote, encourage, and support the interest and welfare of
the ground water industry.
2. To promote
research and education in the broadest aspects of drilling, proper conservation
and protection of ground water.
3. To improve the
standards, methods and techniques of drilling and related crafts.
4. To guard the
public interest in ground water by preventing pollution and conserving supplies.
5.
To promote harmony and cooperation among the members.
6. To promote harmony
among the industry and government agencies.
7.
To keep members informed on industry matters.
8. To advance the
interests of the members and speak with one voice for them.
9. To oppose inimical
and support desirable rules, regulations, and laws.
10.
To afford members the substantial benefits of belonging to a trade
association.
11.
To gain respect by having the association run in a professional
way by a professional
manager.
12.
To work for recognition, acceptance and conformance to the
industry’s code of
ethics.
13.
To improve the public image of the ground water industry.
