Participate, Educate, and Elevate!

Doing so makes us “better together.”

I want to start this message off with three words—participate, educate, and elevate—and discuss how each helps us continue to make the OGWA “Better Together.”

Participate: When was the last time you were at the OGWA conference or educational event? So, what about joining us for a day of learning? Have you been to an OGWA board meeting? Volunteered? Have you shared your thoughts on the OGWA in any manner? Participation by members is key to the lifeblood of an association.

Educate: We are a generational industry; there can be no doubt about that. However, we need to continue to strive to learn. There are new techniques, new technology, new regulations, and more coming out all of the time. This world continues to change around us and we as an industry must stay up on all of these things.

The OGWA staff will continue to work on providing our members and others with the best possible educational opportunities we can as well as keeping you up to date on other industry changes. For us to do this, though, you need to participate.

Elevate: Use the two terms above to elevate your company. By participating and educating yourself and/or your employees, you elevate your business from those that do not participate and educate. Rise above the “well digger” that many people still think we are, and be a “groundwater professional.” Be a resource for what is needed by customers and regulators.

This is how we can continue to be “Better Together” as an industry—by remembering to participate, educate, and elevate!
